Key Hunter — build muscle memory key by key

Key Hunter
A single key appears. Hit it without looking down. 45 seconds, as many as you can.
Finger assignments worth memorising
Left hand covers Q A Z (pinky), W S X (ring), E D C (middle), R F V and T G B (index). Right hand mirrors it: Y H N and U J M (index), I K (middle), O L (ring), P and the semicolon (pinky). Index fingers always return to F and J, which is why those keys carry a raised bump. Drill the bottom row first — it is the row most self taught typists never learn properly.
Pair this with touch typing practice for row lessons, then check gains on the typing speed test or play Word Rain to apply the keys under pressure.
Frequently asked questions
What does Key Hunter train?
Single-key reaction and finger placement. It removes word context so you find out which individual keys your fingers still have to search for.
How does the weak-keys mode work?
Every game and test on this site records which keys you mistype. Weak-key mode pulls the highest error-rate keys and drills only those.
How long is a round?
45 seconds. Hit as many correct keys as you can without looking at the keyboard.
