What WPM actually measures
WPM stands for words per minute, where a "word" is standardised as five characters including spaces. Typing 300 correct characters in a minute is 60 WPM, whether those are long words or short ones.
Net WPM subtracts mistakes; raw WPM does not. This test reports net WPM alongside accuracy, which is the pair almost every employer test uses.
