Terms of Use

Last updated: 2026-08-15. By using TryTyping you agree to the terms below.

The service

TryTyping provides free typing speed tests, typing games and practice drills that run in your web browser. No account is required and no payment is taken. The site is provided for personal, educational and classroom use.

Acceptable use

  • Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, scrape at scale, or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Do not use automated input or scripts to fake typing results.
  • Do not interfere with, obscure or artificially click the advertising shown on the site.
  • Do not republish the site's written content or game code as your own.

Accuracy of results and content

WPM, accuracy and consistency figures are measured in your browser and are intended as practice feedback. They are not a certified typing assessment and should not be presented as a formal credential to an employer or examination board. Reference pages such as the average typing speed chart are general guidance, not professional advice.

Your data

Progress is stored only in your browser. Clearing site data deletes it permanently and we cannot restore it. Cookie and advertising practices are described in the Privacy Policy.

Advertising

The site is supported by advertising served through Google AdSense. Advertisements come from third parties; TryTyping does not endorse advertised products and is not responsible for the content of third-party ads or the sites they link to.

Intellectual property

The site name, written content, game design and source code are the property of the site operator. You may link to any page freely and quote short excerpts with attribution. Bulk copying or mirroring is not permitted.

Availability and liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind. Pages may change or be taken offline without notice. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the operator is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the site.

Changes

These terms may be updated; continued use after a change means you accept the revised terms. Questions go through the Contact page.
